I discovered my passion for the English Language when I was eleven, from the moment when we were given addresses by our English teacher in order to start a penpalship and improve our English.
I decided to further my studies in English and attended the University of Macerata (Le Marche) where I graduated on 17th November 1994 with 105 points out of 110. Because of my good points, I spent a month in Oxford in July 1989. My first time in the UK!!
After graduating I was soon offered work as a receptionist at Hotel Excelsior**** in Vasto Marina (CH) an area where a lot of overseas visitors stay. Because speaking English is really a passion for me, this was the chance of a lifetime. Meanwhile I also gave private tuition to students who did not like English at school as much as I did. I discovered that my favourite work was just to use the English language, either by speaking or writing.
At the hotel my English was noticed by the manager of an important local company who invited me to work as a telephone operator, because they needed an English speaker. I also continued to give English tuition privately.
In March 2007 a Real Estate Agent in the area offered me a position . This turned out to be my dream job! Selling properties to overseas customers, translating the website into English and corresponding in English: I had the opportunity to speak and write in my loved language and when clients bought a property I acted as their interpreter up to the translation of the Final Deed. That was the job I was born for!
I met a lot of English people and the ones who bought a property with this Agency considered me first of all as their friend ANNA. A number of clients have trusted me with the keys of their property and continue to employ me whilst they are absent.
Whilst attending the London Trade Show “La Dolce Vita”, in 2009 I met another local Real Estate Agent that seemed more interesting. They offered me the opportunity to become closely involved in developing their business with English speaking clients.
At this point in my life I feel very confident as I am now spreading my wings on an independent basis! Numerous clients have suggested that I start my own business as an interpreter and personal assistant.
I’ve definitively decided to follow their friendly advice and I’m very happy and proud NOW to introduce you to “Gateway Abruzzo” Professional Services to Holiday Home Owners & House-Hunters.
